2. References¶
2.1. Check that title of in-house journal is written correctly: Oncotarget, Oncoscience, Aging (Albany NY), Genes Cancer
2.2. Check that there is only one author name in reference.
Author name should be either followed by dot (.) or
by comma (,) et al and dot (.)
2.3. Check that author names in the references have the following format:
LastName INITIALS optional Suffix (e.g. Sr, Jr, 2nd, 3rd, 4th)
- Check that initials have no more than 3 letters and have NO spaces or hyphens in-between: Rumi B, Jutten BC, Loo SCJ
- LastName can include name-related prepositions starting with either upper- or lowercase letter: van der Ent FW, Van den Brandt PA
- LastName can be compound and separated by hyphen or space:
Garcia-Closas M, Gomes Jimenes FJ - LastName can have prefixes: McCann MH, O’Kelly M
- LastName can be a mononym (i.e. have no initials): Baoluri, Wurenqimuge, Agudam.
Check all mononyms to be “true” mononyms (check PubMed site) - LastName can have suffixes. Check that suffix is separated from initials by space:
Rowland KM Jr, Short GF 3d
2.4. Check that journal citation-data has the following elements in this order:
JournalTitle. year; volume: pages. DOI.
- JournalTitle should be followed by dot (.)
- Year should be followed by semicolon (;)
- Volume should be followed by colon (:)
- Page numbers should be followed by dot (.)
- Space is allowed (but not mandatory) after semicolon and colon. Space is mandatory after both (JournalName and page numbers) dots. Other spaces are not allowed.
- Page number range can be written either in full (12063-12074) or in shorten format (12063-74). Both formats are allowed.
- DOI is mandatory only for in-house journals and optional for the rest.
- Both DOI formats (https:// or doi:) are allowed. Dot (.) is not mandatory at the end of DOI.
